Bangladesh has halved the power it buys from neighbouring India's Adani Power, citing lower winter demand, government officials told Reuters on Monday, amid disagreements over dues running into hundreds of millions of dollars.

Adani Power reduced its supply on October 31, citing delayed payments from Bangladesh, which is grappling with a foreign exchange crisis.

Bangladesh wants to renegotiate its power purchase deal with Adani Group if the agreement isn’t canceled by a court, Reuters reported, citing the head of its power ministry.
