The San Antonio Spurs’ hopes of advancing in the second annual NBA Cup came to an end as they were officially eliminated following the conclusion of group play against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. Despite valiant efforts throughout the tournament, the Spurs fell short of securing a quarterfinal knockout round berth.

The Celtics won’t be adding an NBA Cup to their trophy case this season. Boston officially was eliminated from the in-season tournament Tuesday night by losing a point-differential tiebreaker to the Orlando Magic.

With the Boston Celtics now eliminated, they will have two regular-season games will be added to their schedule –one on December 12th or 13th and another on the 15th or 16th. One game will be played at home and the other on the road.

Kevin Durant sprained his left ankle and hit the floor during a drive against the San Antonio Spurs and will be evaluated to determine the extent of the injury, Phoenix Suns coach Mike Budenholzer announced.
