French startup Koolboks has developed solar refrigerators for off-grid applications. The units are equipped with solar panels and can operate either as refrigerators or freezers.

They focused on designing, developing, and testing a solar-powered thermoelectric refrigerator (SPTR) with and without a solar tracking system (STS) under local climate conditions.
