Toyota said Thursday it will build a new paint facility as part of a $922 million investment at its factory complex in Georgetown, Kentucky, making it the second big addition announced this year at the automaker's largest global manufacturing plant.

The Office of Governor Andy Beshear announced that Toyota is set to invest $922 million to build a new advanced paint facility at the plant in Georgetown.

The new facility will not change the number of people the factory employs but is the largest dollar investment in the state this year.

This comes less than a year after Toyota said it was investing $1.3 billion into the Georgetown plant to boost electrification efforts. That investment added capacity to produce a new three-row battery electric sport utility vehicle for the U.
