The Flexbar resurrects the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar as a standalone device
Apple may have said goodbye to the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar last year, but a team of four engineers believes the concept deserves a second chance. They’ve created the Flexbar, which is essentially a standalone version of the MBP’s thin touchscreen display that can be used with multiple devices and platforms through a USB connection.

This Kickstarter revives the Touch Bar as an OLED strip that can go anywhere
When Apple discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro, it marked the end of the line for the Touch Bar. Apple may never make the Touch Bar again, but fortunately, the folks at Eniac have taken on the task of creating a replacement that it calls the Flexbar. The company is currently raising funds on Kickstarter to complete the project.

So ENIAC has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for a Touch Bar-style gadget called the Flexbar. It’s a widescreen, high-resolution touchscreen controller for PC and Mac computers that you can position above the keyboard, off to the side, or any other place you’d like to see context-dependent shortcuts for apps running on your computer.
