In 1984, 40 years ago, the Tandy 1000 was released by Tandy Corporation and based on IBM’s PCjr, which essentially fit most of the computer parts into the keyboard. The Tandy 1000 was successful in the consumer electronics market and spawned countless models until its eventual discontinuation in 1993.

Single-board computer maker Raspberry Pi is updating its cute little computer-meet-keyboard device with better specifications. Named the Raspberry Pi 500, this successor to the Raspberry Pi 400 is as powerful as the current flagship Raspberry Pi,

The other addition to the Pi lineup is an official Raspberry Pi Monitor, a $100 15.6-inch 1080p IPS screen with built-in speakers and a white-and-red color scheme that compliments the Pi 500 and the official Pi 5 enclosure. The monitor has a foldable kickstand but also includes VESA mounting holes if you want to give it a more permanent stand.
