Last week, the U.S. Department of Education called on states, districts, and schools to adopt policies around the student use of call phones in school. Ohio is one state that is already well on its way.

Cell phone usage could be more restricted in Kansas schools going forward; the Kansas State Board of Education is set to rule on new guidelines Tuesday, Dec. 10. One Shawnee County high school has already put a new policy in place.

At a regular meeting Tuesday night, Waynesboro School Board adopted a personal electronics device policy for all students.
