A new Microsoft Store update that’s now rolling out to all Windows Insiders makes it possible to update Win32 apps that still use their own update mechanisms right from the Store.

Microsoft has a new update in the works for the Microsoft Store that will allow the software store to automatically update third-party apps that aren’t stored on Microsoft’s own servers, reports Windows Central.

New updates for Windows 10 and 11 PCs include a fix for a high-severity bug that's been actively exploited, according to posts on Microsoft's website. The flaw—a "Common Log File System Driver Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability" named CVE-2024-49138—could give an attacker system privileges.
