Aurora, the new Grok based generative AI image generator was taken down after an accidental launch on Elon Musk's X.

The Grok AI chatbot on X has been limited to Premium users. However, as first spotted by The Verge, starting on Friday, free users began noticing that they had also been given access to the Grok 2 chatbot, with the ability to send up to 10 Grok messages every two hours.

Like the vanilla version of Grok’s image generator, there seem to be few restrictions when it comes to the content Aurora can churn out.

X is going in even more on AI. A new AI image generator called Aurora started rolling out for X users this weekend, per TechCrunch. Aurora is part of the Grok AI tab along the bottom of the X app, and can generate realistic images from written prompts.
