The Russians attacked Ukraine with 38 Shahed attack UAVs and various types of decoy drones on the night of 6-7 January. Ukraine’s air defence systems shot down 28 drones, and another 10 Russian decoy drones disappeared from radar.

As the Russia-Ukraine War enters 2025, drone technology will continue to evolve, with both sides increasingly incorporating swarm technology into their drone fleets.

Fiber-optic drones are highly dangerous, as they can't be jammed with traditional electronic warfare and are difficult to detect.
