Macy’s and Kohl’s are closing one store each in Colorado as part of the department store chains’ plans to dump underperforming stores this year. Macy’s released a list Thursday of 66 closures that includes the store at the Northfield Stapleton shopping center in Denver.

The New York City-based Macy’s will be closing 66 stores across nearly two dozen states as part of its “Bold New Chapter” strategy, describing the soon-to-be-closed locations as “non-go-forward” locations.

Macy’s and Kohl’s are preparing to shut down Bay Area department stores and cut jobs. Kohl’s has posted plans to shut stores in five Bay Area cities, including San Rafael, while Macy’s has revealed its decision to shut its Corte Madera location and one other store in the nine-county region.
